We had the opportunity to work alongside Volunteer Airdrie to clean up garbage from the highway shoulder. Off The Grid Youth loves to show up and help out as often as possible.
The weather was perfect for this cleanup. Our goal was to pick up and bag as much garbage as possible between Balzac and the 48 avenue bridge, sad to say with all the volunteers that Volunteer Airdrie had we couldn’t finish it. There was a lot of garbage.
The important thing was showing our younger volunteers the importance of discarding unwanted items the right way. We found so many useful and some not so useful things.
Let us all be a part of making our communities better. There are so many ways we can help and be more involved in making the streets, neighbourhoods better. Ask around, check the newspaper, be a part of Facebook groups that encourage people to go out and do something for the community.
