I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, OTG was out and about as usual giving back to the community. I am thankful for the youth we have in our organization, they are willing to wake up early on a Saturday morning to go out and help as much as possible.
We were a part of Steps For Life, this is an organization that aims to help eliminate workplace tragedies. They organized a five kilometre walk around Nosecreek park and neighbouring areas. This is our second year volunteering at this event. I love bringing our teenagers to events like this so they can learn about the importance of workplace safety.
The weather was just right for this event and seeing families come out to walk the five kilometres was amazing. This event is growing with each year and I hope that next year will be even bigger.
Mayor Heather Spearman was in attendance and she said a few words about safety.
