Over 1300 Families Given Groceries

Written by; Abe M

Friday, July 11, 2025, was a day to remember for Off The Grid Youth. We had the opportunity to pack and hand out free groceries and fresh produce to 1,300 families. We had a dedicated team of youth and pre-teens who braved the heat to make sure that our city was served. We take pride in serving our community, and I appreciate those who sacrifice their time and effort to come outside when they don’t have to.

A little ice cream break

Many thanks to Guru Nanak Free Kitchen and the homie Chris Glass, who introduced us to the group of individuals who give and serve in a way that made us appreciate being a part of what went on. We will continue to serve our community and be a part of doing good. Our children and youth believe in giving back, and I appreciate them for real.

Hard work but rewarding

Thank you all who came and volunteered. I know some of the tasks were not the best. Sammy didn’t want to break the boxes, but she did it anyway lol, you a real one for that. My dawgs who were on the potato table, Jake, Zo, Justin, Tolu, Faheed, and postal y’all, light was bright for all to see. I know y’all were at a busy station, and those were some heavy boxes y’all were carrying. I salute y’all. Tay, you a real one for challenging me to clean the ice off the dessert table. The preteens did their thing, and they played a lot. I ain’t mad at them. They showed up and showed out.

He means business

Thank y’all for the support.
