"No person is your friend (or kin) who demands your silence, or denies your right to grow."- Alice Walker

Four of our teenagers had an experience of a lifetime, they were part of history. Gurp from Boston Pizza Airdrie North invited us to join the servers from their restaurant in bringing awareness about Off The Grid. We were there from 3 PM to 8 PM waiting tables and having conversations with the guests.

It is important to us to have our youth do things they normally wouldn’t do due to access. Boston Pizza has really come through for our youth by providing them with employment opportunities, mentorship and fundraising opportunities. It’s good to see local businesses that support our up and coming youth.

I try to remind our youth that certain opportunities are rare and appreciating people who go out of their way to invite us to be a part of their ecosystem is essential. The amount of good things that Off The Grid Youth experience is mind blowing and it can be easy to forget that those who donate or give us opportunities don’t really have to do it. That constant reminder is huge in opening other doors because word goes around and well behaved teens are always getting ahead because people can’t stop talking about them.

I wanna thank Gurp for believing in us and offering us these great opportunities to be a part of something big. Thank you for helping us raise funds through the Valentine’s Day event.
