July 26, 2025 finna be etched in our memories forever. Tay’s Fashion Show was a hit and I’m thankful for all the youth who braved the runway to showcase Tay’s ideas. Shout out to Jayden, Keisha and Jireh who helped Tay earlier on to set up and put things together, I’m proud of y’all. A few balloons popped but y’all persevered and made it work. Shannon is a real one, she showed up and showed out for real. I’m thankful for the community around me, people who give their all and support what we do.

We had a great time celebrating the mind of our own team member, Tay. She had a vision and we were there to help bring it to life. Every child and youth is gifted, it takes time and patience to bring it out, but on a real talk, these gifts need to be explored and appreciated. Young Simi had the music on lock, she came ready and I’m so proud of her work. Nobody does it better in this great city we call home. She curated instrumentals for the runway, everyone in attendance enjoyed her performance. There was some jazz music in the selection too.

I always love seeing the older youth come to the aid of the youngins, Tay and Keisha helped Simi organize her playlist and were very patient with her. All this made it possible for the music to flow with no issues.

To the judges, Councillor Tina Petrow, thank you for always supporting us and always ready to help us out. Quinn and Zo, y’all came with it and I’m proud of y’all. Shout out to Colton for jumping in with no hesitation and walking that runway like a champ you are. Jireh, you a real one in these streets, you helped set up and pushed through your own discomfort. Jayden, thank you for your ideas and encouragement. Tolu came with that positive energy. Ammalee, thank you for supporting Tay and being a real one. Samantha, I know you were made for this, you a natural in front of the camera. Afanwi, your joy is contagious, it’s always a pleasure watching you do what you do.

We can’t wait to see y’all August 9 when we host our Western Themed Event with our friend, Councillor Heather Spearman. More details to follow.

Thank y’all for taking time out to reading this, I appreciate y’all.
